> Who we are looking to support
Firetree Philanthropy specifically funds early-stage grassroots organisations that are doing critical work, close to the people who need support and find it hard to access funding.
The Firetree Group also funds established, highly effective local organisations with proven models. Through the Firetree Fund, we offer values-aligned funders access to a selected group of our portfolio.

Our funding focuses on two inter-related areas:
PEOPLE ON THE MOVE
Organisations supporting migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people.
CHILD PROTECTION​​
Protecting children from all forms of abuse. Work supported here includes stabilisation of immediate risks, case management to build pathways for children and families towards long-term safety and development, raising awareness of rights, training of and advocacy with key stakeholders.
​In both areas, we value organisations led by or strongly rooted in the communities they serve, and those that prioritise the lived experience of the people they work with.

We typically work with registered organisations. For groups that are not yet registered, we explore ways to support them, directly or through an intermediary. We are very conscious, though, that finding values-aligned intermediaries that don't reinforce existing power dynamics is essential.

We fund organisations working in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia.

As our partners are often doing sensitive work in communities, we don't list who we fund publicly. They are remarkable teams and organisations, and we are always proud to champion them privately where we can.​​​
